We're excited to announce that our very own Sam Froling has signed with the Indiana Pacers for the NBA Summer League.
"From Day 1 we prioritised the recruitment and support of high character, talented and aspirational players to represent the Airs. Clearly Sam represents each of these qualities," Media8 Group Head of Basketball Chris Anstey said.
"We also committed to not standing in the way of our players taking a step they aspired to. It is a very bitter-sweet situation for us to hug Sam on his way to the USA to compete in his first ever NBA Summer League. As an organisation, we are very proud to have contributed to Sam realising this opportunity, and wish him all the best as he competes against some of the best athletes in the world".
Playing for the Taranaki Steelformers Airs in the 2024 Sal's NBL, Sam has averaged just shy off 22 points, 11 rebounds and sits amongst the favourites for the league MVP.
"While Sam is irreplaceable, we focus on the sum of our existing parts absorbing Sam’s role as we look to progress through the NBL postseason." Anstey continued.
