The Taranaki Steelformers Airs are ecstatic to announce the re-signing of local star Quintin Bailey for the upcoming 2024 NBL season. As a team deeply rooted in community and talent development, the Airs are thrilled to hang on to a player who embodies the spirit and skill that the organisation stands for.
Head of Basketball, Chris Anstey, shared his excitement for Bailey's return: "I had the chance to meet and spend some time with Quintin in Invercargill for the 3x3 tournament earlier this year. As a club, we couldn't be more excited that we've been able to re-sign Quintin, making him an integral part of what Sam and the coaching group are trying to achieve with this playing group moving forward. From what I already know, and I think the locals will know better, he's a top-notch human being, a fantastic player, and someone who fits into the way we are going to go about it, on and off the court, perfectly."
Bailey, a local hero deeply connected to the Taranaki region, has shown remarkable progress over the past seasons. His commitment to excellence and his ability to inspire both teammates and fans have made him a fan favourite and a role model for aspiring basketball players in the community.
"Re-signing with the Airs means a great deal to me. It's more than just playing basketball; it's about being part of a family and contributing to the place I call home," said Bailey. "I'm looking forward to hitting the court with my teammates and giving our fans something to cheer about this season."
The Airs are focused on building a winning culture and a team that the community can be proud of. With Bailey's re-signing, the team is poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming season, starting with their opening game against the Manawatu Jets on March 30th.
